The "2025 National Non Blast Furnace Ironmaking Academic Annual Conference", hosted by the Ironmaking Branch of the Chinese Society of Metals, organized by the School of Metallurgy at Northeastern University, and sponsored by Shouguang Maolong New Material Technology Development Co., Ltd., was successfully held at Northeastern University in Shenyang from November 28th to 30th, 2025. In the main report section, Wang Zhenhua, Chief Engineer of Maolong New Materials Technology, gave a special report titled "Innovation and Index Breakthrough of HIsmelt Process Technology". In the report, he systematically reviewed the development history of HIsmelt technology and highlighted the innovation and breakthroughs of Maolong New Materials' HIsmelt upgrade. He deeply analyzed the unique advantages and broad prospects of HIsmelt technology from the perspectives of technical design, industrial application, and future potential, and combined it with the industrial practice of Maolong New Materials to depict a clear blueprint for the large-scale and commercial application of this technology.

During the thematic discussion and exchange session, expert representatives freely expressed their "insights" and "opinions" on HIsmelt technology. Several senior experts highly recognize the achievements of Maolong New Materials in HIsmelt technology, believing that this process demonstrates unparalleled advantages over traditional blast furnaces in handling complex mineral sources, reducing carbon emissions, and simplifying production processes. It is one of the important development directions for future non blast furnace ironmaking.
